My Prayer for the NWTF Banquet; Wetzel County Chapter

Here is my text for the opening prayer at the annual banquet of the Wetzel County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation on Saturday April 11:

Father in Heaven,

There is not one square inch of this entire creation that the Lord Jesus Christ has not claimed to be his own. As we enter into the woods this year--in whatever season--as we enjoy nature--the colors of spring and fall, the chill of the air, the blue skies, the beauty and cleverness of the animals--as we enjoy the creation over which you have made us stewards, let us be mindful that the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows his handiwork. I pray that you would give us all eyes to see your hands at work in the world around us.

We thank you for the privilege of gathering tonight. We pray you would bless the efforts of the Wetzel County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation as it seeks to encourage success in the woods, good stewardship, and safety for all. We pray that you would provide generously through the auction and donations. We pray that you would keep us all safe and grant us success in the woods.

We give thanks for this food and for those who have prepared it. We pray that you would bless it and that you would continue to give us our daily bread.

We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the Savior of all who believe, Amen.
