A Poem of Comfort for Physical Suffering

Greater than Grit

May you have no grit of your own, but in Christ alone
That he may be strong, and you, though weak, may sing a song
Of praise to him who heals the soul--of greater worth than body whole.
A healed body serves only to speak of greater forgiveness--the first need of the weak.
And when forgiveness is had, though all else be bad,
And though healing come from The Healing One,
We have more than healing, we have more than pain,
We have been made whole, Christ alone is our gain.
